I almost caught a case of baby fever after this session. Sweet baby John was so tiny and warm and had the cutest little whimper of a cry. Err... I mean, it was very manly for a baby, but not shrill or even very loud. It was the cutest cry I've heard in a long time! And the color of his fine baby hair reminded me of my own little baby (who is now two). John was so easygoing, letting me play with some of my new props and a few new lighting techniques. He is a long little guy though! I tried one prop that worked with a 10 ponder, but John was too long for it! But he didn't put up much of a fuss at all! It is funny how even as a tiny newborn their personalities are so apparent already. I do hope John continues to be a laid back easy going kind of guy - and I just know those eyes are going to be blue!

Baby Archer was only 7 days old when I took these pictures. The little newborn was not so little, weighing in at 10 pounds and almost 4 ounces at birth, this little man was almost too big for some of my newborn ideas. For example, he was hanging off the Dr. Seuss books I had brought specifically for this session. I still had to try to get the image and in some ways it speaks volumes about how big this little guy is!
You may recognize Archer's big brother, Nolan, in the last image. It has been my pleasure to have been photographing this family since Nolan came home from the hospital and I am honored to be able to continue the tradition for Archer! Sweet little Nolan still has so much to learn about this big wide world of ours, but it is obvious he already loves his baby brother! I know they'll be good friends as they grow up, not only because they are close in age, but because their family is strong and supportive, full of love and very close knit despite the miles that separate them physically. You can be sure you'll be seeing more pictures of Archer as he gets even bigger!
