Gavin is a boy of many looks. He has gone from a baldy baby, to blondie and now, at the ripe old age of four, his locks have turned brown. He is a sweet little guy and would do just about anything I asked... well, I did promise him a lollipop at the end of our session. He started out cool as a cucumber, but wasn't very keen on wardrobe changes. As soon as he saw the treat I had for him, he was ever the willing participant for our session. I just loved all the different looks he gave me, he was such an expressive little man. I had a great time photographing this family and I had a lot of fun playing with some different way of processing these images. I know Gavin had fun with our session - he ADORED that lollipop at the end! Of course I had to get a few shots of him enjoying it!

When I Paint My Masterpiece
Birthdays are quite the cause of celebration. My own son just turned 2, so I had to take some pictures to document this stage in his life. Cake smash sessions are great and lots of fun, but I think they work best for the "turning one" crowd. In an effort to come up with something different and fun, I decided a finger (or foot!) painting session would make for colorful images and allow Wesley an opportunity to have fun and get messy. Eye contact can be hard to come by with a 2 year old, especially one who is entirely immune to the camera. The images captured from this session made for a cute story board. You can be sure you'll be seeing it in the studio real soon!

Rock-a-bye, baby
Little Max was supposed to be an October baby. As many people know, babies have a way of creating their own schedule much to our chagrin! Needless to say, Max made his way into this world in September, a few weeks earlier than planned. When his parents contact me about his unexpected early arrival, I was more than happy to make some room in my schedule for his newborn session in the studio. When he arrived, he was fast asleep in his car seat. Apparently, he had been sleeping for the entire drive to Catonsville. We started our session and we had a hard time getting some shots of a sleeping baby the little guy was awake just about the entire session. I only hope we tired him out some and the whole family might have gotten some sleep that night!
I hope you dance
Some people march to the beat of a different drum. Ava prefers to dance to the music in her heart. This little heart breaker just turned one and to immortalize this time in her life, her parents brought her into the studio. We did a few family portraits and then moved on to individual shots of the birthday girl. She wore her birthday dress and when prompted to stand she would start doing the sweetest little dance! Her mom brought a very pretty (and yummy!) cake so we could do some cake smash pictures. Ava, being the dainty little lady, didn't really like getting her hands dirty. Let's just say, it was a good thing we did the cake at the end of the session.
